Spring Hockey
The Maine High School Hockey Association philosophy is to provide all necessary and reasonable support for the accomplishment of its mission purposes and its student athletes. Training and support for experienced coaches, conditioning and skill programs, good sportsmanship requirements, competitive schedules and tournaments to improve team performance are some aspects of our “Top Ten” program. This program is designed to continue the drive for success and provide opportunities to compete with the top five programs in the state of Illinois at the varsity and junior varsity level. Educational demands are a player’s priority and hockey schedules should be set recognizing finals, college testing and other important high school events. Each player must comply with District 207 academic eligibility requirements.

What players are eligible for the program?
Current high school players and incoming freshmen residing in Maine District 207 are eligible.
When
What time of the year does this program run?
Season typically begins after spring break and runs until late May prior to Memorial Day weekend
Where
Where are practices and games typically held?
Home games and practices are held at Niles Iceland. Visiting games will be at rinks throughout the Chicago area.
Practices
When are practices and how often are they?
Teams practice usually 2 times per week.
Games
How many games will they play? What days of the week?
Teams will play 8-10 games over the course of the season and will usually fall on the weekends.
Jerseys
Are jerseys provided or are they purchased separately?
Club jerseys will be provided and must be returned at the conclusion of the season.
Frequently Asked Questions
Spring 2025
Spring Hockey will run from 3/17/2025 through May 24, 2025 with skill sessions/practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 8-10 league games and possibly a tournament.
Maine Hockey Fees for the season are as follows.
Skater $925.00 Season Fees
Goalies $350.00 Season Fees
Payment is due by 3/14/2025

Try-outs will be held the WEEK of 3/17/2025 all at Niles
Tuesday 3-18 9:25 - 10:25pm - 24-25 Juniors and seniors only - or approved by coach Greg
Wednesday 3-19 8-9pm- 24-25 Freshman/sophomores and select Junior and seniors as requested by staff
Thursday 3-20 8:15-9:15pm - 24-25 Freshman/Sophomores
Teams will be posted within a couple days of the last tryout. If you're unable to attend your tryout date please contact coach Mrofcza for further instructions.
